Bonfire Night is one of the nation’s favourite holidays, who doesn’t love fireworks? Almost every city puts on some kind of firework display to mark the fifth of November but few are as spectacular as Wolverhampton’s. Thousands of pounds worth of fireworks are let off and the city comes alive with showers of light.

The Annual Pantomime

One of the great British traditions is the pantomime. These energetic and hilarious performances entertain children and adults alike up and down the country and are especially enchanting at Christmas time. Every December the Grand Theatre hosts a pantomime with a cast of memorable characters that will delight the whole family. The performance is different ever year and past pantomimes include all the classics including Aladdin, Snow White and other family favourites.

Carver’s Wolverhampton Marathon

Many people are unaware that Wolverhampton hosts a marathon every year, however it is a great route and is ideal for both the amateur and the more advanced runner. The event is planned and funded by Carver’s Building Supplies and work hard to ensure that it goes off without a hitch. The Wolverhampton Marathon is one of the most anticipated events in the city’s sporting calendar and has a great deal of runners competing in the name of noble causes and charities.

Wolverhampton City Show

Wolverhampton City Show takes place every year in the scenic West Park and is a highlight on the Wolverhampton calendar. The event takes place in July so hopefully the weather won’t disappoint! Regardless of the weather the event always has a packed itinerary and previous years have included giant inflatables, a fun fair and even monster trucks!

Wolvestock

Thousands of people every year attend music festivals and it’s easy to see why, nothing compares to experiencing music live. However the live music scene has become a bit jaded over recent years as festivals try to establish an identity for themselves. So if you want to enjoy a festival that isn’t conventional then Wolvestock is not to be missed. Wolvestock attracts some of the best country music artists in the country and is completely free to attend. The festival has been running for over fifteen years and offers a great camping experience as well.
