Far Better Than Expected
I booked myself a small room without a window as it was only £34 and it was right in the centre of Edinburgh, perfect for my Christmas work party. I expected it to be quite terrible as it was so cheap but I wasn't bothered by this as it was just for one night. I was completely wrong about this hotel. Yes the room is small and it's strange not to have a window but if you can get past that then it's absolutely fine. The room was clean with a double bed and shower cubicle with sink and toilet. The shower was warm and powerful, even if it did soak the whole of the cubicle. The bed was comfortable and I slept in peace and quiet, not hearing anything from the other rooms or Princes Street. My only niggle was that there was no soap or wee cups to use in the room so remember to bring those. Also, the room was quite hot and I couldn't find a way to turn this down but it wasn't the end of the world. The receptionist was lovely and seemed like she'd help if I needed it. The front door of the hotel is locked after 11pm so that makes things a little more secure too. All in all, for such a cheap price, this is pretty damn good and comes recommended.
